Welcome

Welcome to Fourth Avenue Jr. High, where we proudly wear the school colors of red, white, and black. 8th grade students wear khaki pants or bottoms, and 6th and 7th grade students must wear black pants or bottoms. We are a 6–8 grade junior high school in the Yuma School District One, nestled in the thriving city of Yuma. We sport great weather nearly year round and pride ourselves on the great community where we belong.

At Fourth Avenue Jr. High we know what it means to soar to great heights. We have supportive teachers, involved parents, and motivated students. Our teachers and staff have the greatest hopes and expectations for the success of your child in the classroom and as a citizen of life. With close to 450 students for the entire school, we are able to ensure that your student has a good relationship with his or her teacher. We feel privileged to be involved in the many aspects of your child’s growth.

A Message from Our Principal

Dear Parents,

At Fourth Avenue Jr. High, we want to thank you for the pleasure of teaching your children on a daily basis. We love to have the energy and zeal of the teenagers on campus. We dedicate our best efforts toward teaching the best materials. We want your students to be well-rounded, so not only do we offer excellent academic teaching, but we also teach good conduct and model good behavior, which teaches our students life-long skills.

We take education seriously and want you to know that we have the highest expectations for our staff and teachers. We’re dedicated to giving your children the knowledge and skills that will enable them to be successful in the future. We also strive to teach them self-sufficiency and independent thinking skills.

We know that a good education goes beyond the textbook. We hope our students will get involved with clubs and athletics to learn team work and participation. We have many extracurricular activities for students to be involved with and hope you encourage your children at home to excel in their personal studies. Our Falcons are our pride and joy.

Sincerely

Jose Cazares
