Welcome

Welcome to Fourth Avenue Jr. High — Home of the Falcons!

We’re proud to be a 6th through 8th grade campus in the heart of the Yuma School District One, nestled in the vibrant and sunny city of Yuma. With nearly year-round great weather and a close-knit community, Fourth Avenue Jr. High is a place where students thrive and feel at home.

Our school colors — red, white, and black — represent the pride we carry every day. Our uniform policy helps reinforce that unity:

  • 8th graders wear grey polo shirts.
  • 7th graders wear red polo shirts.
  • 6th graders wear white polo shirts.
  • All students wear black bottoms.

At Fourth Avenue, we believe in helping every student soar. With a student body of around 450, we’re able to offer a close, supportive environment where strong teacher-student connections are the norm. Our dedicated teachers, involved parents, and motivated students work together to create a culture of academic achievement, personal growth, and lifelong success.

A Message from Our Principal

Dear Fourth Avenue Families,

Welcome to another exciting school year at Fourth Avenue Jr. High! We’re thrilled to have your children back on campus, bringing their energy, creativity, and unique personalities that make our school such a vibrant place to learn and grow.

At Fourth Avenue, we’re committed to more than just academics—we’re shaping future leaders, thinkers, and kind human beings. Our incredible team of educators works hard every day to provide a learning environment where students are challenged academically, supported emotionally, and inspired to do their best in and out of the classroom.

We believe in teaching the whole child. That means strong academics, yes—but also character, responsibility, and respect. Whether it’s through classroom lessons, extracurricular clubs, or athletic teams, we’re helping our Falcons develop skills that will serve them for life.

We also know that a strong partnership with families makes all the difference. Your encouragement, involvement, and support at home fuel the success we see here at school. Together, we can help our students soar.

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead—full of learning, growth, and Falcon pride!

Sincerely,

Jose Cazares

Jose Cazares, Principal
