Elective Opportunities
At Fourth Avenue Junior High, we are dedicated to aligning with the vision of Yuma School District 1 by designing an environment that challenges students to develop their innate talents and abilities to the fullest. We offer a diverse range of elective opportunities, including STEM, art, music, physical education, and industrial arts. Our STEM program encourages critical thinking and innovation, while our art and music classes foster creativity and self-expression. Physical education promotes health and teamwork, and industrial arts equips students with practical skills and hands-on experience. Through these elective options, we are confident that our students will continue to enrich the Yuma community with their unique talents and abilities.
Our students are really enjoying the industrial arts classes we offer. Please take a moment to look at their exciting projects.
Learning about the Greenhouse Effect offers our future scientists and all future caretakers of our planet an opportunity to understand the cause and effect of our actions. The projects our students create and display inspire hope in our next generation.
From cave paintings to some modern art, FAJH students in Mrs. Fleming-Sharrar’s art class traveled through art history. They learned drawing techniques with pencil, charcoal, and collage. Students gained an understanding of elements and principles of art and design, including photography.
